Harlem Bespoke: Things are not looking good for Chez Lucienne on Lenox by 125th Street these days. Harlem's first fancy French bistro on the boulevard was a local favorite for years but closed abruptly a few months ago because of electrical issues but now it appears that a more permanent situation might be at hand. We took the above photo yesterday and noticed that the windows had been painted over and the interior was in the process of being gutted. From the looks of things, it would appear that a renovation is taking place or maybe a new business is moving in. We will have more updates as the story develops.

I hope it's just a renovation (which it actually could use, to be honest). Their brunch is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI was told that the owner of Lenox Saphire bought the place and was updating it. Has that changed?
ReplyDeleteworkers told me they were renovating. But it is gutted. And their liquor license is “suspended”. What does that even mean?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is suspended during the renovation...?
