Harlem Bespoke: Doug E's shuttered about a year ago on 7th Avenue at the corner of 132nd Street and now it appears that the new establishment taking over the commercial storefront is progressing quite quickly. An initial announcement mentioned that the business would be called Renaissance Harlem but the neon currently being installed just has Renaissance fabricated in neon lights.
The facade has actually had a bit of a makeover with more classic paneling and windows in place which even makes us even more curious about the nature of the business. Our opinion would be that Renaissance will probably be a lounge or eatery but could also end up being a neighborhood bar. More on Renaissance can be found in our past post: LINK
