INTRODUCING: MIKEY LIKES IT DEBUTS ON FDB
Harlem Bespoke: We received tip that Mike Likes it ice cream has opened the Harlem location on FDB by 134th Street and decided to try out the small-batch dessert shop this afternoon. Some might remember that Hillary Clinton dropped by the first location on the Lower East Side during the campaign and could not resist trying out the artisan offerings served up on freshly made waffles.
There are waffle cones at Mikey Likes it but real waffles in classic or red velvet batter are also served up in an ice-cream sandwich format. Pop culture names such as Foxy Brown (mocha ice cream, crushed Oreos, sea salt caramel swirl) or Pink Floyd (double strawberry ice cream with cheese cake chunks) are some of the flavors of the day but we were told that the Southern Hospitality is the one that sells out most quickly. This is pretty much a pecan pie ice cream with pecan pie chunks and praline pecans mixed in. All of the custom ice cream flavors can also be served up in a standard paper cup but we recommend checking out the sandwich special which is called the Mac Daddy when visiting. More on Mikey Likes It can be found in our past post: LINK
