REMEMBER: OLD BROADWAY THEN AND NOW

Harlem Bespoke:  The above photo from NYPL taken in 1936 shows Old Broadway just north of 126th Street when the block was completely intact.  None of the buildings shown are standing today and this vantage point looks quite different now.
A few of the older structures are still left on the south side of the street but the north end has completely been altered to make way for a super block of public housing.  This all started to happen after the depression years and not many remain who remember what the old neighborhood used to look like.  With that said, the archival street view kind of reminds us of Morningside Avenue just north of 126th Street so those who want to reminisce can just walk over to that block and take a look.
