Streeteasy reveals that maybe those days are gone. Apartments further north in Inwood appear to be in the $1,400 or slightly under range while Harlem rentals are at the $1,500 mark. One such abode at 1
56 Sherman Avenue by the 205th Street is going for $1,425 a month and 156 apartment seekers have saved the listing as a viable place to live in the next year. This is probably all considered affordable in comparison to Manhattan standards but we still do not see entry levels salaries increasing in such a way for most young professionals to be able to afford this type of monthly overhead.
