Harlem Bespoke: The adaptive-reuse Victoria Theatre development on 125th Street was announced back in 2012 but major work did not really start until last year. With that said, the $143 million restoration of the historic site which will include two new tower out back seem to still be in limbo unless one takes a look on the 126th Street side.
We walked by the construction site by 7th Avenue last week and noticed that the facade was still in ruins but the tower foundation had been finished at the back entrance along with two floors. Things should really pick up in the next couple of months and 26 stories could top off by this side of the year. The end result will be a cultural center at the iconic theater, a hotel on the 125th Street side and affordable housing on 126th Street. More on the Victoria can be found in our past post: LINK
