ARCHITECTURE: THE LEE BROTHERS TEMPLE

Harlem Bespoke:  Those traversing the Riverside Drive viaduct by 134th Street might notice that a large Greek temple sits prominently at this particular intersection.  The lower section under the bridge looks like a non-descript warehouse building but the top penthouse section appears to be the living quarters for a billionaire.  It turns out this amazing structure was just purely decorative and the commercial use of the Lee Brothers building has always been for storage.  Those taking a stroll along the West Harlem Piers can look up over to the east side and take a glimpse of this unique piece of architecture from the past on any given day.
