EAT: RUBY'S VINTAGE HARLEM OPENING ON ACP
Harlem Bespoke: Apparently the Strivers Row area will be the next big commercial corridor in Central Harlem with trendy spot opening up this fall. We received an official press report on Ruby's Vintage Harlem which is set to open at 2340 7th Avenue this October if all goes according to plan. The retro loune named after Harlem actress Ruby Dee who once lived at the building by Strivers Row at the corner of 137th will serve up updated classics such as prawn cocktails and Reubenwith Trout. This was actually the location of a tea parlor several years ago but interior design renderings reveal a mid-century aesthetic which appears to be leaning more towards the Mad Men era. We walked by the location today and it appears that the interior space is nearly complete.
