FIRST LOOK: HISTORIC VIEWS AT THE RENNIE

Harlem Bespoke:  Adam Clayton Powell on the blocks just above 135th Street have really become one of the more transformed sections of 7th Avenue in Central Harlem in the past half decade.  The Rennie condominiums at 137th Street along with the coveted Striver Row Historic District have all been part of a amazing residential restoration within what is now once again one of Harlem's most pristine neighborhoods. We were invited to see the new views at some of the model apartments at The Rennie in the past week and had been informed that 20 percent of the units have been sold so move-ins will happen by springtime.

Those entering the building will first notice that the detailing of the facade from the original Renaissance Ballroom had been duplicated meticulously which helps the other more contemporary design elements mix in with the surrounding prewar cityscape.  Many of the units face the front or the side of the building which provides abundant daylight along with dramatic views of the neighboring architecture.  With that said, the modern parts such as the kitchen or baths of the apartments provide a boutique aesthetic with a relaxed feel that should spark joy in those who are not into a lot of clutter and admire high-end finishes.

Most popular thus far are the one-bedrooms in the $700K range which have been selling well thus far.  Interest in two-bedrooms have been brisk since the start of the year and few of the penthouse units have gone into contract right away.  Perspective buyers should also note that this is one of last developments to secure the 25 year tax abatement since the government will no longer be providing this benefit with other new construction.   More photos and details for The Rennie can be found on the official website: LINK
