ARCHITECTURE: ELEVEN HANCOCK REVEALED
Artwork by: Aline Tom at +TOM
Harlem Bespoke: The new construction just west of St. Nicholas Avenue can mainly be seen on the 125th Street side of the development but now the condominium has been revealed as Eleven Hancock after Hancock Place which is the south side entrance. Everything has topped off in the past month or so and a press release reveals a distinct cantilevered design by Isaac & Stern architects.
The lower photo shows the 125th Street frontage which is just as dramatic as the Hancock entrance. We especially like the location that is around the corner from the express 125th Street subway station but the announcement focuses on a façade with oversized industrial-inspired windows that showcase the building’s exposed diagonal beams encased in finished concrete—a unique design feature for select residences. Scheduled for completion in Spring 2020, the 12-story, 130,000-square-foot building will comprise 71 studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences; nearly 50 percent of homes at Eleven Hancock Place will feature outdoor space. A new website has also been established: ElvenHancock.com
