Harlem Bespoke: The European equivalent of Trader Joe's (which is actually German owned but started up originally in California) is making a move to expand in Greater New York City and this should include a location on FDB. A recent industry article reports that discount German supermarket Lidl has purchased all of Best Market's 27 locations which are mainly on Long Island but also includes a couple in the city. This basically means the one on FDB by 118th Street and a conversion to Lidl should happen within the next two years or so. Prices are apparently over half that of most local grocery stores and the arrival should attract other sharply discounted supermarkets who are known competitors to Lidl:
