Harlem Bespoke: Lucille's on Macombs Place by 150th Street opened quietly this year as a coffee shop during the day but now has evening cocktail hours. We will go over the crafted drinks at a later date since the food here is worth mentioning. There apparently is a serious kitchen in the back headed up by chef Nick Cerda and the Three Cheese Mac (click on above menu to enlarge) caught our eye for the evening. Served up in a clay casserole, this orechiette pasta dish is probably one of the most photogenic incarnations of the classic that we have seen in a long time. Additions included serrano chili, bacon or shrimp and we chose the seafood option which turned out to be quite satisfying.
Jerk Chicken tacos, BBQ ribs, a beef Cottage Pie and Roasted Cauliflower Soup are some of the other offerings on the menu but we did not have time this time around to make a bigger dinner order. Lucille's is basically a cozy 70s lounge but the food service is a little more substantial than other bars so definitely drop by for quick bite if you are in the neighborhood.
