READ: MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON 125TH STREET

Harlem Bespoke:  The efforts to bring The Urban League headquarters to 125th Street stalled because of political reason back in 2013 but now everything appears to be moving forward again with the inclusion of 170 affordable apartments and a civil rights museum.  Those who remember the previous report know that the parcel involved had housed a few local businesses within the street level of the parking lot building located just west of Lenox Avenue.
Most of the aforementioned business have since moved on and the retail storefronts have pretty much been vacant for quite some time.  The 17-story new construction now has the green light from Governor Cuomo with the land just signed over for the $260 million commercial and residential development.  Another interesting point is that The Urban League started in Harlem back in 1910 but currently has the headquarters downtown so this will be a homecoming of sorts.  There has been no news of a groundbreaking date but we suspect this will take a couple of years to finally happen.  More details can be found on the 6SQFT site: LINK
