DEMOLITION: BEGINNING OF THE END AT ST. JAMES
Harlem Bespoke: We received news earlier in the year that St. James Methodist Church had sold to a developer and it appears that everything will be demolished in next few months. In the past week or so, scaffolding has been going up at the corner of 126th Street on Madison Avenue and things do not look good for the 148-year-old house of worship. Demolition permits have been approved back in April and this last historically intact east side block just north of of 125th Street will forever be altered with a modern addition. More details from a local perspective can be found in our original post from January of this year: LINK
