SHOP: NEW SHOP ARRIVING AT 2220 FDB

Harlem Bespoke: Back in 2016, there was an announcement that a French restaurant called Le Caméléon would be arriving on FDB just south of 120th Street but apparently the deal fell through.  A minor amount of construction started up soon after but the storefront was seized by the landlord and back on the market by 2018.  We actually have not been aware of any activity on site this year but had a bit of a surprise when walking by the address over the weekend.

As can be seen in the above photo, the window are no longer concealed with paper and the interior looks almost done. The setup looks kind of like a coffee shop but there are quite a few of those around on 8th Avenue already. Some additional research on the DOB site reveals that permits had been approved over the summer for a cake shop but no name has yet been provided.  Signage should soon go up and the mystery should be solved by the next few weeks.  More on the defunct Le Caméléon can be found in our past post: LINK
