SHOP: LAUNDRY LOUNGE TRANSFORMS INTO THE WASH
Harlem Bespoke: Back in 2011, Harlem's most modern laundromat opened up on Amsterdam by 139th Street and was called Laundry Lounge powered by LG. This was some major representation for the electronics giant and we noticed recently that a bit of a makeover has taken place. Bold fuschia pink that had been originally out front has now been replaced by a soft shade of lavender and a quirky new logo. The Wash feels a little more playful and the softer aesthetic is much more millennial than the boomer-centric corporate graphics of the previous establishment.
This makes a whole lot of sense since the location is right across the street from City College and a lot of younger residents live in Hamilton Heights. Laundromats have actually been disappearing in uptown neighborhoods so it is a nice change to see one stick around especially in a stylish new fashion.
