EAT: FIELDTRIP TAKES OFF ON LENOX

Harlem Bespoke: FieldTrip debuted on Lenox Avenue just south of 116th back in July and has apparently become very popular for the many global rice bowl offerings.  Coconut sticky rice with curry shrimp, Black rice and Salomon with piri piri and Carolina Gold rice together alongside crispy fried chicken with BBQ sauce are just some of the standouts at the fast-casual spot that had recent rave reviews in the New York Times. Overall there are five types of rice from around the world featured at FieldTrip which also includes a vegetarian bowl variation.

A relatively unknown Joseph Johnson rose to stardom at the Cecil in previous years and FieldTrip is the first venture for the local celebrity chef focused at more affordable prices that are more inclusive than the usual fine dining establishments.  On social media this past Sunday, it was revealed that the shop sold out of food before closing hours so the word is definitely out.  Read more about Field Trip in our past post: LINK
