Harlem Bespoke: Groundbreaking has started up on the city-owned lots at 265 West 126th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue which will eventually be the address for a new 7-story affordable housing building called the Balton Commons. There will be 37 mixed-income affordable rental units which will include studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units when completed by Winter 2021 if all goes to plan. The new construction located behind the Apollo Theater has also been designed as passive housing which is a more eco-conscious way of developing homes that are energy efficient.
