RESTORATION: BILL BOJANGLES ROBINSON PLAYGROUND

Harlem Bespoke:  We walk by the Bill Bojangles Robinson Playground at 150th Street last week and noticed that some major construction was going on.  This child-friendly outdoor space just west of 7th Avenue apparently had $2 million granted for upgrades and broke ground last October.  New playground equipment, surfacing, planters, landscaping, bleachers, fountains and security lighting are all in the mix and should be restored by the fall of this year.   On a side note, the Harlem Renaissance entertainer that the public space is named after lived across the street at the Dunbar Apartments so the moniker is quite befitting.  More detail can be found at the Park Department site: LINK
