Harlem Bespoke: Mayor DeBlasio has now requested a rent freeze for all regulated apartments in the city as of Friday afternoon. This will affect over 2 million units when it goes through and those who do not live in a stabilized building have the option of asking the landlord to use the security deposit as payment for the month. Nothing is actually official as of yet but there appears to be an urgent need for this to happen so all should work out. There is no mention of commercial rents which some small businesses have been requesting a pardon on. More on the CNBC site:
