Harlem Bespoke: Yes there appears to be a lot more fireworks in the streets happening this year than every. We have lived in the city for most of our lifetime and the festive summer pyrotechnics are ubiquitous this time a year but usually on a small scale. The city has now reported 12 times the amount of 911 firework complaints in comparison to this time last year so things are a little over the top this summer season. Apparently NYPD will now try to get to the source of things and operate sting operations to close down the suppliers. The small print on the above flyer mentions that businesses will be closed or cars confiscated if found selling the combustible goods. More in the New York Times:
