Harlem Bespoke: Another reopening we were able to check out for lunch recently is River Thai on Amsterdam by 147th Street. The eatery just debuted in the past year or so but has been closed for the most part because of the city shutdown. A lot of folks just tend to order delivery but we were able really have a proper seated meal outside on the couple of tables provided and it was really worth it on a sunny day.
There is actually a fantastic daily special for $9.95 which includes a spring roll or salad with Thai peanut dressing to start and then an entree for the main course. A side order of spicy fishcake was an adventuresome addition for the day and those familiar with the more mild Japanese version will definitely appreciate this appetizer. Last but not least was the drunken noodle order and look at that presentation! This is usually not the most photogenic plate but River Thai does an amazing job with the classic dish. Needless to say, it was amazing and this is probably the best Thai restaurant to be currently found uptown.
