Harlem Bespoke: We have been seeing on social media that there appears to be a vocal crowd which points out that true New Yorkers do not toast their bagels so we decided to do a poll on our twitter account which pretty much only has a local following. Our personal preference had been untoasted for literally decades but then more bagel bakery shops started opening uptown. We then discovered that freshly warm from the oven was best but toasted was another option that was really good. So how did the snapshot poll go? A clear 51 percent voted for toasted bagels, 29 percent preferred untoasted and 20 percent who were good either way.
