BESPOKE DIARIES: WINTER AT IL CAFFE LATTE

Harlem Bespoke: Il Caffe Latte on Lenox by 119th Street had been our go-to spot for a quick coffee for over a decade now and we spent an afternoon at the Mount Morris Park Historic District location this week to see how things were going.  Business is slower because of the pandemic but lots of loyal customers have been dropping by during the day just to say hello and pickup an order that was called in earlier.   Most of the tables inside have been spread out for 25 percent capacity so things are a little off but guests still enjoy nabbing the front seat at the window.  There are also a couple of outdoor seats which have also been quite popular.

The owner is also very creative and has used some of the time in the past months to start up-cycling cafe tables with decorative bottle caps or coins.  One local gallery owners dropped by to get some pasta to go for lunch and marveled a the new penny counter finishing up in the back.  Things are still not quite 100 percent but seeing the love from the community here really was encouraging and definitely a hopeful moment in the new year.  Follow Il Caffe Latte on Instagram for more updates from this local favorite: LINK
