Harlem Bespoke: We have been on a search of the best birria tacos in greater Harlem and a tip came in that Frijolito's in Hamilton Heights was worth trying out. The specialty is not on the menu but guests can just walk into the eatery on Broadway by West 140th Street and ask for the delicious dipping taco specialty. So how was it?
Frijolito's might not have a fancy outdoor appearance but this little takeout spot in West Harlem is the real deal. There was so much flavor in each taco and the herbs were quite generous inside. Two layers of tacos is alway a little more authentic in our opinion and the beef was well seasoned too. There was no melty cheese in the this version but you would not miss it at all. Guests can also choose from 3 levels of heat and the medium was really on point. About four tables are outside for those who want to have a seat and enjoy the food at this little hidden gem in the neighborhood.
