Harlem Bespoke: Spring has arrived which means the average weather is pretty mild and perfect for eating outdoors. One big problem that we are seeing is a lot of the restaurants that have winterized outdoor spaces are basically an extension of indoor dining. Those who are comfortable eating inside at a 50 percent capacity are allowed to do so now which means completely enclosed outdoor seating is obsolete. The rest of us who do not want to take the indoor risk should be able to sit outdoor in the open air or some sort of shed that is not sealed off on all sides. An exception can be found in the individual private greenhouses which only have one table in each but those clearly are a safe option since they are not communal spaces.

I just had a lovely lunch with my family at the edge. We sat inside as it’s still cold today, but they have a gorgeous outdoor structure that is perfect for summer. It blocks the sun, but has plenty of airflow due to the design. I wish I could attach a picture here!
