WALK: HIGHBRIDGE AT THE HARLEM RIVER SPRING 2021

Harlem Bespoke: It has been a rainy Memorial Day weekend so far but Monday will clear up and would be a great day to explore some of uptown's historic green spaces like Highbridge Park surrounding the actual Highbridge landmark.   The city's oldest bridge just reopened to the public for the first time back in 2015 after a major restoration period and is as sight to behold in The Heights.   All of the trees are brilliant green now and are not so dense which makes it easier to view the actual original High Bridge structure on either ends of the park just north of 172nd Street which connects Washington Heights to the Bronx.  There is also an easier entrance at 165th Street by the basketball courts off of Amsterdam Avenue for those who want to avoid the steep steps further up which is probably more ideal for those with bicycles.  This historic gem is still one of New York's forgotten wonders so make sure to drop by when the weather is clear out.  More on the High Bridge can be found in our past post: LINK
