Harlem Bespoke: One of the notable offerings at the new
Manhattanville Market on Broadway by 130th Street is Butterfunk Biscuit Co. by chef Chris Scott of Top Chef fame. These truly massive biscuits are twice the size of all others in the city and come in savory and a sweet option also. When we ordered our first sandwich, we could not believe that the box was so large and the biscuit itself was truly gigantic. The burger-size serving of crispy fried chicken is our favorite so far for the juicy thigh meat along with golden crust which both have been seasoned through and through. Melted whipped pimento cheese, pickles and a drizzle of hot honey finishes everything off spectacularly. Harlem Public, Harlem Biscuit and now Butterfunk Biscuit Co. are now probably our top pick for chicken sandwiches uptown and well worth the trip over.
