Harlem Bespoke: There was an announcement last month that proof of vaccination will be the mandate for all New York City restaurants or indoor activities starting September 13th and that that day has now arrived. Some establishments like movie theaters have already started this screening for indoor activities but now everyone will be on board. To beat the pandemic, a larger majority over 70 percent has to be vaccinated and the alternative is another shutdown if more people do not participate. Vaccination rates have gone up since more mandates have been implemented and NYC currently has a fully vaccinated rate of 60.5 percent and 67.3 percent has a had a least the first shot according to recent health department reports. On a side note, we have been using a photo of our vaccine card on our phone along with a drivers license and that was enough to show as proof. More details can be found on NPR: LINK
