Harlem Bespoke: Who can guess the location of this historic Harlem corner shop from the 1940s archival photo? The location is in a 4-story tenement building adjacent to a couple of unique brownstones but the key clue would be the slight elevation going up the street. The updated photo will be posted later on in the day. A lot of correct guesses here since those living in the neighborhood will instantly deduct that this is the corner of 145th Street and Edgecombe Avenue. There pretty much was a grocery store on every other corner back in the day since fast food restaurants were not so prolific and folks were mostly still cooking at home for meals. The new Charle's Pan-Fried Chicken is also set to debut at this location in the coming weeks and we took more photos in our past post: LINK
