Harlem Bespoke: So the average in Manhattan rent for a non-doorman studio went up a couple of hundred this past summer to a whopping $2,256 a month but those living uptown can save thousands each year since deals can still be found. In the past 24 hours, a prewar two-bedroom at 297 Pleasant Avenue by 116th Street has been listed for $2,000 a month. This no-fee rental has a Citi Bike station out front and is in the heart of the former Italian neighborhood. There is also the shopping center with Aldi and Target just a couple of blocks away but this is mostly a prewar kind of area so a walk-up apartment situation might not be for everyone.
