EAT: HAWAIIAN SPAM MUSUBI AT MAKANA

Harlem Bespoke: Uptown’s own Makanna serves up the authentic various mix of cuisine found on Hawaiian islands. There's a lot of cross cultural Japanese influences to be found including sushi and Spam musubi which we ordered for lunch today at the location on West 134th Street by City College. Hawaiians love Spam in everything and the sushi combo which consist of a teriyaki glazed ham and rice balls wrapped in seaweed is just a natural mash up.

The order comes with two pieces but the first one disappeared quickly before we could take a proper photo. Sushi, poke bowls and Hawaiian BBQ are all also on the menu for those who want to try other dishes.   Makana started up in East Harlem a while back and now has several locations in Manhattan.  For more stories like this in a fun video format, follow our Cinema Bespoke account on Instagram: LINK
