Harlem Bespoke: So the average in Manhattan rent for a
non-doorman studio went up a couple of hundred this past summer to a
whopping $2,343 a month but those living uptown can save thousands each year since deals can still be found.
In the past 24 hours, a prewar
two-bedroom at 531West 135th Street by Broadway has been listed for $2,045 a month. This
no-fee rental has recently been renovated and is just a couple of blocks away from the 137th Street subway station and city college. Restaurants, cafes, parks and the main Broadway commercial corridor are all close by. With that said, this prewar apartment is probably a walk-up situation so might not be for everyone.
