REMEMBER: THE TREE IN THE BEER HALL CIRCA 1904

Harlem Bespoke: Back in 2013, we wrote about the incredible holiday history at the Pabst beer hall on West 125th street.  Evidently the massive dome interior was a sight to behold since the soaring ceiling could fit in one of the largest decorative trees to found in the entire city.
The A.H. Meyer’s Pabst Harlem Restaurant building still stands today with the majority of the building visible on the West 124th Street side just east of FDB/8th Avenue.  One can see from the lower photo that the interior used to be a large dome that had tableseating on the ground floor and apparently a Christmas tree as tall as the ones delivered to Rockefeller Center a few decades later used to be installed inside during holiday season.  Today, the building's architectural details are slowly deteriorating and was basically under utilized as a storage facility until recently.  Earlier this year, The Cliffs opened Manhattan's largest rock climbing facility within the top portion but the lower levels are still vacant: LINK
