Harlem Bespoke: An archival city photo reveals the firehouse on Hancock Place just west of St. Nicholas Avenue as it stood back in the 1940s and the building pretty much looks the same today. The Beaux Arts style building was apparently abandoned by the 1980s and Broadway choreographer George Faison purchased it back in 1999 to repurposed everything thing as a local community theater. After two decades in the neighborhood, the theater has been more quiet as of late and was recently up for sale as recently as last year. Interior photos from the past listing reveal a restored interior as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside: LINK
