April 9th, 1:00PM-5:00PM, The Reclining Liberty celebration, at Morningside Park by West 120th Street. Live music and poetry at The reclining Liberty statue this Saturday in celebration of the giant sculpture which debuted within Morningside park by West 120th Street a year ago but will be removed in two weeks time. Over a dozen artists and musicians will be out by the iconic statue this weekend to perform and celebrate the uplifting sculpture at this free public event.
Artist Zaq Landsberg's installation will be removed on Friday, April 22nd so makes sure to drop by at any opportunity before the Liberty is gone from the park. With that said, we definitely need to see more great public art and artists funded for city parks since this was something everyone could enjoy especially since local green spaces are even more cherished nowadays.
