REMEMBER: WE WERE BEAUTIFUL THEN, TOO

Harlem Bespoke: We finally got a few photos of the fantastic new outdoor exhibit at St. Nicholas Park called We Were Beautiful Then, Too which is presented by the Schomburg Center or Research in Black Culture.  These early bespoke cabinet photos provide a glimpse into the self-representation of black society from the late 1800s and into the Harlem Renaissance year.  There is a set located at 132nd Street and also another series by West 139th Street on St. Nicholas Avenue so remember to stop by and admire a glimpse of the past when out and about in the neighborhood.
