Harlem Bespoke: One of the empty lots that has been in the neighborhood for as long as we can remember will finally have something built up at the corner location on Frederick Douglass Boulevard. We saw recently that plywood has gone up at 282 West 132nd Street and there is already an official rendering of the new building at the former abandoned parcel of land. Open lots still exists throughout Manhattan and developers have a little less controversy building up since demolition of existing heritage sites are not part of the mix. Groundbreaking should be happening soon and if all goes to plan, the new building will be complete in about two years.
