REMEMBER: FRITZ BAR AND GRILL CIRCA 1940

Harlem Bespoke:  We had been reminiscing about Chez Lucienne on at 308 Lenox just north of 125th Street recently which had us wondering what the storefront was used for back in the day.  New York City archival photos from the 1940s show that Fritz bar & grill held court with an Art Deco storefront similar to Lenox Lounge and this made a whole lot of sense.  The 2,3 express subway stop is just on the corner and all of these commercial spaces are centrally located in the heart of Harlem.  Bars and restaurant appear to be the preferred setup even back in the day and a new one might be arriving soon for this uptown block.  More on recent events at the former Chez Lucienne can be found in our past post: LINK
