Harlem Bespoke: Martin Luther King Jr. organized the March on Washington in 1963 with the help of the "Big Six" and local activist Bayard Rustin at this Harlem brownstone which was the national headquarters for the historic Civil Rights movement. Number 170 West 130th Street is located just east of Adam Clayton Powell and quietly holds the legacy of Harlem's inspirational political past. We will try to get an archival photo up in later post to see what the building looked like previously.
