SEE: MOONLIGHT & MOVIES AT MCNY

Harlem Bespoke:  The Wiz (1978), director Sidney Lumet's spectacular version of the hit 1974 Broadway musical featuring an all-star Black cast and based loosely on L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.


Thursday, January 26th, 6:30PM-9:00PM, Moonlight & Movies: The Wiz at Museum of the City of New York, 104th Street and Fifth Avenue. Set in a dreamscape version of New York City, the film stars Diana Ross as Dorothy (reimagined as a Harlem schoolteacher), a 20-year old Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, and other major stars including Nipsey Russell, Lena Horne, Richard Pryor, Mabel King and Ted Ross.   Online tickets now available at the MCNY website:  LINK
