The Central Harlem renovation house saved some of the architectural details on the interior a few months back and now the townhouse has been fully gutted. Anything of interest was removed from each floor and all the old plaster walls have been completely torn down. The heavier lath and plaster walls are more substantial then today's drywall but it appears that there had been asbestos present so removing everything seems to have been the way to proceed. Structural repairs along with all the new pipes and wiring have to be now installed in the next few weeks. Replacing those walls will not happen until all the infrastructure work gets done so it will take some time to see more dramatic changes. The photo at top is of the parlor floor while the second one down shows the upper floor which appears to still have the dumbwaiter shaft intact when the photo was taken.
