The storefront that will be Cove Lounge at 325 Lenox Avenue and 126th Street made a lot of progress out front back in June but thing appeared to have slowed down a bit in the past few weeks. This is due to mostly infrastructure and interior work being done and the outward face of the new establishment has not seen much action until now. Check out the current photo after the jump.
Walking by the space in the past week, we noticed that new brickwork has been added to the facade which accent the existing industrial bronze elements. It has sort of a groovy 70s feel to it but this aesthetic might work out for a new lounge. The Cove Lounge website still does not have any updates besides a simple graphic so the opening date is still up in the air. Read more about this new Central Harlem arrival in our past post: LINK
Red Rooster has a lounge in the basement, currently under construction, and now Cove Lounge across the street. Upper Lenox is becoming it’s own micro neighborhood defined by unique dining and night life. I’m also pleased that this micro neighborhood has a Harlem signature, not just a copy of downtown.
