A current Times article reports on how some buyers on the Upper East Side have looked past the traditional neighborhood borders of the nabe and are starting to cross over to East Harlem. The main attraction is basically Central Park East which has pristine views and a stock of developments arriving on the market on the edge of the famous green space. Most notable are the adaptive reuse prewar condo building at 1212 Fifth Avenue by East 102nd Street and the residential tower rising right behind it (above photo).
Even though this area of Fifth Avenue has some major housing projects just a block east, it appears that some buyers are ready to sign contracts at Twelve Twelve according to the article. A quick check on Streeteasy only comes up with 18 available units that are available and no such contracts out: LINK.
