A few of the Gateway Tower condo storefronts at 2100 FDB/8th Avenue have been empty in the past year but the news of a wine bar arriving had previously peaked our interest back in November:
LINK. The moniker Vinateria had previously been mentioned at the local community board meeting last year which sounded like it would an establishment with a better aesthetic. Walking by the block between 113th and 114th Street this week, we noticed that an announcement for the yet to be established space has a new name listed as Six Lounge which does not sound so inspiring. Anyone know what's going on here?
that may simply be the name of the lease holders and not the name of the establishment. They do not have to match.
ReplyDeleteCB10 is considering requiring Harlem businesses close early at 2am and not the NYS standard of 4AM like other neighborhoods. This ruling will put this and other Harlem businesses at a disadvantage to similar businesses in other neighborhoods. I wish this businesses luck.
ReplyDeleteI understand the actual name is 'Harlem Food Bar" , not exactly a creative name. Six Lounge LLC is the Corporate name. They are looking to open some time in April.
ReplyDeleteWe residents of the building got a letter from the owners stating that the venue would be a classic french bistro with a modern pop or something to that effect. They were very adamant in their letter that it is NOT a bar, club, or lounge, and that they want to work with us and the community board to address any concerns. No other updates since then, and no idea what happened to Vineteria!
