We are a big advocate of drinking green tea and noticed that Il Caffe Latte had a green tea latte on the menu. The owner of Harlem's popular cafe with locations on lower Lenox Avenue and on 145th Street mentioned she had to go to a Japanese specialty shop in town to get the pure green matcha used in the brew that has a taste similar to green tea ice cream but in a warm, foamy variation. Most folks know about the original location of Il Caffe Latte in the Mount Morris Park Historic District but many living in Hamilton Height have yet to discover this solid local standby on 145th Street:

I love this place, too. Living a couple of blocks to the west, on the Broadway corridor, I only found this place during the first SugarHill Market!
