REMEMBER: HARLEM WATCHTOWER TO BE DISMANTLED

Wednesday, December 10, 7:00-8:00 Pelham Fritz Recreation Center 18 Mount Morris Park West and West 122 Street.  Find out about the timeline to restore the Fire Watchtower in Marcus Garvey Park and get your questions answered by the Department of Parks.  This meeting will address the next steps in the restoration process of the Mount Morris Fire Watchtower in Marcus Garvey Park.  The community will be given a PowerPoint presentation by John Krawchuk, Director of Historic Preservation, NYC Parks who will give a brief history of the cast iron structure and its current condition, and recommendations for repair. NYC Parks Report. NYC Parks Commissioner William Castro will also be in attendance to answer any questions. Dismantling of the Fire Watchtower will commence this week with a scheduled completion/installation by the summer of 2017.
