EAT: FALL MENU AT B2 HARLEM

We were able to swing by B2 this week on 119th Street between FDB and St. Nicholas to try out what was new on the fall menu.  A brief Happy Hour in the early evening features $1 oysters so having a few was de rigeur  before checking out the more formal main offerings.  As many know by now, B2 was originally Billie's Black but the owners decided to go for a more contemporary direction featuring seafood offerings in the line of fine dining.  An appetizer of seared sea scallops was beautifully presented on a puree of bright butternut squash which highlighted the natural sweetness of shellfish and the kitchen definitely did not disappoint with this starter.

Next up was a bit of turf which was a plate of bone-in pork chop with caramelized fruit and sweet onions that actually really was the surprise of the evening.  Everything we have tried has been super solid at the new eatery but the pork chop special really was spectacular.  Perfect color on the outside but moist on the inside with a hit of flavor from the accent ingredients makes this entree the standout of the season.  B2 appears to be one of the ones to look out for this year from what we can see so far and has been expanding hours to also include a Sunday brunch.

We will probably swing by again over the weekend but those interested on learning more about B2 should check out our past post: LINK
