BESPOKE: ORNATE FIREPLACES OF MOUNT MORRIS PARK

Harlem Bespoke: Some of the most detailed townhouses to be found uptown are located within the Mount Morris Park Historic District and we noted one listing that had an extraordinary interior example not seen elsewhere. Number 4 West 122nd Street is currently on the market for the asking of $4.2 million and the above photo reveals that one of the parlor fireplaces (to the far right) has an intricate series of ornate columns supporting a miniature roof.  It is unclear if any of these fireplaces actually work but the pure visual Victorian drama is something quite spectacular.

As previously mentioned, this grand Mount Morris Park home has a majority of original details intact within and is also in the coveted single-family layout but some of the interior probably needs a touchup to get things up to date.  Whole Foods and the express trains on Lenox are just 3 blocks away which makes this historic location especially desirable.   More photos and broker information on Streeteasy: LINK
