☞ WALK: Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

Harlem's original meat-packing-chic-restaurant meets Harlem's meat packing district. We found this old photo (circa 1930) of the industrial warehouse that is home to today's iconic Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and it brought us down memory lane. One can see all the industrial signs on the building to the right of the top photo that provides evidence of the meat market that existed up until the past decade. Today, a great neon sign can be found along with the zinc watershed awnings and the faded brick-painted signage (reinvented by Dinosaur) which are all new, even though it looks like its been there for ever. Click on top photo to super-size. Located on 646 W 131st St. tel: 212-694-1777. Take the 1 train to 125th Street and head West towards the viaduct.
